David Humphreys (1999) – captain of the Ulster Rugby team which won the European Cup

Businessman Mark Ennis – for his contribution to local business and to the University (2000)

British Airways pilot Captain Bill Hagan – for saving the lives of 400 passengers following a cockpit takeover bid (2001)

Kilkeel GP Dr Alan Poots – for winning the UK Doctor of the Year (2002)

Armagh GAA captain Kieran McGeeney – for team leadership & national recognition (2003)

The late Tyrone Gaelic captain Cormac McAnallen – for personal leadership & achievement (2004)

Dr Marion Gibson - for her work in the aftermath of the Indian Ocean tsunami (2005)

Dr Wesley Finegan - for his award-winning book ‘Being a Cancer Patient’s Carer’ (2006)

Dr Nigel Hart and Dr Roger McMorrow – for climbing Everest and saving the life of a fellow climber on the descent (2007)

Jonathan Scott – broadcaster, photographer, writer and wildlife expert (2008)

Ms Julie Graham (1999) a profoundly deaf student for her impact on fellow students and staff, her involvement with JUDE and role in local deaf community

Students Working Overseas Trust (2000) – for their contribution to the lives of others 

Law students Anita Hanna and Paddy McGrath – for winning a world legal debating competition (2001)

Jo Laurens – for her achievements as a playwright (2002)

Medevice (Dermot Leonard, Declan Kelly, Darwin McCullough and Andrew Scott)  - for invention of Chronoflow medical pump (2003)

Lauren Buchanan, from Omagh – for her work with Habitat for Humanity, the Methodist Society, and an after school youth club on the Shankhill Road (2004)

David Maxwell – for his work on The Gown and Student Radio (2005) 

Michael Connolly from Fermanagh and Philip Toner from South Belfast – for setting up ‘ABC for Life’ (2006)

Yu Huai Zhang (known as Neo) – who was British Council International Student of the Year, and was also recognised for his volunteering efforts and Student Executive role while at Queen’s (2007)

Marcella Walsh – music student (2008) 

Lisa Collins (2009) – Contribution to SIFE, for setting up Share Uganda & for her community voluntary work
