What made you decide to set up your own business? |
The founders wanted to create and lead their own software business. |

What has been your biggest challenge so far? |
Breaking into new markets – initially UK local government from 2001, North America from 2005, and now Australia. |

What has been your biggest success or triumph so far?

Being recognised as the world leaders in our field. Driving significant growth and profitability against the backdrop of the world financial crisis. |

How do you feel your time at Queen's prepared you for this venture? |
A first class education in logical thinking skills. Very committed lecturers and tutor. |

What advice would you give someone considering starting a business?

What is the differentiated proposition? Who will buy and pay for it (market size)? Who are the team to build the business? What access is there to funds? |

QUBIS has been very supportive of Lagan through the years. I’d be keen to see more collaboration between the University and Lagan. Northern Ireland needs more strong, ambitious, indigenous export-oriented software companies to create challenging career opportunities, and generate wealth for the economy. |
