Queen's: International Hub

At Queen's our international students not only thrive on the life-enhancing education they receive at Queen's but also provide vital links that feed back into the Queen's mandate as a world-class university with a global outlook.

Through our unique blend of heritage and innovation Queen's aims to provide international students with exceptional study and career opportunities and approximately 1,700 international students from over 100 countries currently study at Queen's.

Queen's is an international university ranked in the world's top one per cent of universities and international students are given priority for a place in University accommodation for at least their first year.

A rich heritage

Established by Queen Victoria in 1845, Queen's is the ninth-oldest university in the UK and students are taught by academics at the top of their chosen fields.

A Russell Group university

As a member of the Russell Group, we are one of the UK’s 24 leading research-intensive universities. Queen’s researchers work closely with more than 250 universities around the world.

Students make the difference

Ranked in the top 100 universities in the world for international faculty and international students (QS World University Rankings 2015/16) and ranked 15th in the UK for student experience (Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2016), Queen's is one of only a few UK universities with a proven commitment to enhancing the international student experience. A rich mix of different cultures and outlooks across our student body and staff makes Queen's the dynamic and innovative university it is today.

Research and teaching excellence

A qualification from Queen’s is a unique currency and is highly marketable in today’s knowledge economy. Exceptional teaching standards reflect our research strengths; independent assessments demonstrate that Queen’s is ranked consistently as a top UK university.
