Carolina Delcourt Riera from Spain
Erasmus Student: English LiteratureQueen’s has a good reputation and is very beautiful. Belfast is much cheaper than London universities and friendlier. The best thing about my course is the way the course modules are organised.
I come from the University of Barcelona and I found the three day welcome event, covering all the key aspects of the University and living in Belfast, very useful.
In general library facilities are quite good. There are a great range of books and the librarians are very friendly. The computer facilities are impressive. In Barcelona we do not have so many. It is also good to know that there is a computer assistant available to help you. Queen's also has an impressive gym.
Belfast is a beautiful city. The life in the University is quiet, relaxing and easy. You have all you need so near to you.
Coming to study at Queen's is the best way to improve your English.

My course is a mixture of lectures and computer-based work. The staff are very helpful and emphasise that you can come and see them at any time.
I did some research on different universities in the United Kingdom and I liked what I read about Queen’s, especially about its place in academic league tables and its social life. It’s not just study, study, study all the time. One of the reasons I chose Psychology was because I like people and I like helping them.
I live in the Elms Village halls of residence. The Physical Education Centre offers a wide range of facilities and access to computers is quite good. The social life is very good. It’s very easy to make friends. I was told to get involved in things and that would enable me to make the most of university life. I took that advice and it has worked. I’ve met so many people and made some good friends. I’m in the University Choir and a member of the Physical Education Centre where I’m doing a dance class. And I’ve also been doing a short course run by the Christian Union.
I like a combination of factors about Queen’s. The whole package. The academic and social life. The freedom to try out new things. The facilities.
I would recommend Queen’s to other students. I think that if you want to get a good education and meet different people, Belfast is the place to be.
