£9 Million Facelift for the Students' Union

Our Students' Union offers a wide range of services, from its entertainments, to the Student Advice Centre, to its shop and catering outlets.

Queen's students are set to enjoy the benefits of an extensively remodeled Students' Union, the result of a £9 million  investment.

Students' Union

The refurbished Students' Union is at the hub of student life in the University. It is located directly opposite the main University site, providing a wide range of social and welfare services.

Run by elected student officers, the Students' Union provides its student members with effective representation and impartial advice and offers student-led services that complement the University's provision in terms of support and welfare. It plays a vital role in promoting the interests of students to the University and the wider community.

Gigs and Clubs

The Union building makes a major contribution to student entertainment. Its state-of-the-art catering and entertainment facilities include two first class bars and the Mandela Hall, which is among the best entertainment venues in Belfast, regularly hosting gigs by some of the biggest names in the music industry and is home to one of the country's most popular nightclubs, SHINE.

On top of that the Union supports around 65 non sporting student clubs and societies offering you the chance to develop your interest or try something new - chess, student radio, politics, photography and juggling are just a few of your options!

The Students' Union is also home to the Student Advice Centre and a Student Counselling Service.

Freshers' Festival

Starting University can be an exciting and daunting time, and the Freshers' Festival run each September offers you a chance to find out what services are available to you.
