As Chair of the China Working Group I am very pleased to welcome you to our China Website. My Group is committed to ‘working’ to enhance the Queen’s Experience for all students from China studying in our great University.
My skills in the Chinese language are not as good as yours but I hope you gain all of the information you need from this website in order to decide that Queen’s University Belfast is the place where you wish to study for your degree.
When you graduate from Queen’s University you will leave with a degree from an internationally recognised institution and you will also have made many new friends from a wide range of countries.
Queen’s has developed a special relationship with China. There are more than 200 Chinese students studying at this University and there are several hundred graduates from Queen’s University who have returned to China to take up excellent careers. Many of these graduates return to China with postgraduate MSc, MA and PhD degrees.
I have had the opportunity to visit China many times. To Shenyang and Benxi in the North, to Shanghai and Beijing and to Nanjing, Fuzhou and Hong Kong.
China is a wonderful country, a country of contrasts it is so large. Surprisingly, you will find that there are many areas of your country that are like Northern Ireland with beautiful forested mountains and valleys, swift flowing rivers and a wonderful coastline by the sea.
