Nurulizzah Ibrhaim,
A 3rd year medical student, Nurulizzah is originally from Selangor.

“What attracted me to Queen’s is its excellent academic reputation and the structure of the Medicine course. Queen’s medical students have the opportunity to experience patient contact as early as the first semester of the course. The medical facilities are very modern and the anatomy classes, in particular, have been superb. I am a member of both the Malaysian Students’ Society (MSSNI) and the Queen’s Malay Club, which organise events to promote and share the Malaysian culture with other students. My involvement in the Medical School’s Scrubs Society has also benefited me academically by attending their key medical talks. I find the cost of living in Belfast very reasonable and student life here is fantastic. The University campus, accommodation and city centre are all within walking distance. Coming to Queen’s has been one of the best decisions I have made. I find the University to be a safe and welcoming environment.”

“The reason I chose Queen’s is because of its academic reputation in Electronics and Electrical Engineering. Queen’s is a leading research-intensive university which allows students to be exposed to the latest industrial research developments. I have found the lecturers to be very friendly, experienced and dedicated, and together with excellent library and computing facilities, my studies here have been very enjoyable. Queen’s is a very international environment, where you can meet with people from different parts of the world. Furthermore, the local people are very warm and friendly.

“I chose Queen’s because of its reputation internationally and on the recommendation of my friends and colleagues in Malaysia. The students and staff at the Unviersity are very friendly and welcoming. Queen’s is a pleasant and safe environment in which to study. They are excellent facilities such as the new state-of-the-art library, the Students’ Union and the Physical Education Centre (PEC). The University fully supports international students and there are numerous clubs and societies which have allowed me to socialise with students from other cultures. My communications skills have also greatly improved during my time here. There is a significant number of Queen’s alumni in Malaysia and I would be truly honoured to become one of them in the near future.”
